When the Camden Township Fire Department began planning for a new fire station, they selected Janotta & Herner as the design-build general contractor to bring their vision to life. The goal of the project was to create a modern, functional, and community-focused facility that would provide safe storage for fire apparatus and equipment while also serving as a central hub for volunteer personnel to train, develop, and better serve the community. The project team evaluated multiple design solutions to achieve the desired functionality and aesthetics while maintaining cost efficiency.
Prior to construction, the department operated out of a retrofitted church that lacked the space and infrastructure needed for safe vehicle storage and effective training operations. The new station is centrally located at the intersection of two major highways, improving emergency response coverage throughout the township. The completed facility features modern apparatus bays, updated operational and training areas, and a community emergency storm shelter. Providing the Camden Township Fire Department with the resources needed to support its volunteers and serve the community for years to come.
